I think less high schools and more k-6 close to home is a better idea than what has been proposed. Young children should be close to home. High school age kids can handle being shipped all over the city. Perhaps by combining the two high schools the best programs and curriculums can be brought under one roof.
Also a good look at the administrative budget and operations would be preferable to closing down so many schools. Also, with some schools closing they should have to justify small, disproportionate cuts in the school administration.
